Our Mission is Education

The mission of Great Lakes Energy Education Program (GLEEP), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is to provide energy education on renewable energy, oil and gas, energy efficiency, and natural resource stewardship by educating students and community members throughout the Great Lakes region. GLEEP is committed to promoting responsible energy use and preserving the Earth's natural resources through environmental education programming.

The wind and solar powered Mobile Energy Lab boasts 44-feet of hands-on learning stations in renewable energy, energy conservation, provides models that demonstrate hydropower, energy efficiency, and more. Or perhaps the student's would like to try their hand at building their own solar or wind powered structures, test their knowledge in renewable energy, or use peddle power to create electricity and much more.

 

The entire day is devoted to maximizing your student's learning with real-world skills through STEM (short for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) disciplines. Students can experience crucial subject matter for today’s skills that are critical to their future success in the global economy. This unique, one-of-a-kind exhibit delivers a state standard aligned rated, authentic teaching opportunity right to your door! It's a field trip on wheels. The Mobile Energy Lab is on the move in the Great Lakes Region! Currently we schedule regular visits in the following states: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin. We will do our best to honor request from other states.
